Aurora Pier
Ships of Aurora Pier
Many vessels that dock at Aurora Pier bear names and designs influenced by Galapan, the native tongue of neighboring Galapos Island. This tradition honors a long history of trade and collaboration between the island and Sylva. Crews are a vibrant mix of Galapas islanders, Clank (mechanical folk), Humans, Katari (feline), and Ribbet (amphibian), each bringing their own customs and skills to the docks.
Mercator (Merchant Ships / Bayrunners)
Large, sleek vessels - typically 100-130 feet long - built for both speed and capacity. Their hulls are a patchwork of polished woods and recycled metals, painted in deep blues and copper with Galapan script along the sides. Colorful banners and solar sails ripple above, while light strips trace the rails. Crews are a lively mix of Galapas, Clank, Human, Katari, and Ribbet, working together as traders, engineers, deckhands, and cooks. The Mercator is the backbone of trade, always bustling with goods and gossip.
Caetus (Whaling Ships)
Massive, broad-beamed ships - 130 feet or more - designed to weather the open sea. Their hulls are reinforced with bone-white plating and steel, adorned with painted sigils and old harpoons. The decks are cluttered with winches, nets, and trophies from past hunts. Caetus crews are rugged and superstitious, with members from all backgrounds forming close-knit teams. The ships themselves are often splashed with red, white, and black, echoing the hunt.
Fragmina (Salvage Ships)
Medium-sized, agile boats - 50-80 feet - built for maneuverability and quick hauls. Their hulls are a mosaic of scavenged panels, each ship unique in color and shape, with digital graffiti and personal charms dangling from the rails. Fragmina crews are inventive and bold, with a blend of skills and backgrounds. The decks are cluttered with cranes, grapples, and makeshift tech, always ready for the next big find.
Aecor (Spicecutters / Fishing Boats)
Small, fast boats - 30-50 feet - ideal for shallow waters and quick trips. Painted in bright greens, yellows, and blues, Aecor vessels sport wind turbines, light strips, and modular storage bins. Their crews are nimble and cheerful, with a mix of Katari, Ribbet, Galapas, Human, and Clank working side by side. The air aboard is always thick with the scent of spice and salt.
Transitus (Couriers / Privateers)
Narrow, ultra-fast craft - 25-40 feet - built for speed and stealth. Their hulls are matte black or iridescent, with retractable solar wings and encrypted comms arrays. Transitus crews are tight-knit and secretive, drawing from all peoples of the harbor. These ships are favored for urgent deliveries, covert missions, and the occasional daring raid.
